FTG

One of the things I really like doing, is visiting other artists' websites and seeing where their inks take me. I've found a LOT of really coolio stuff out there! The first link that I'm posting was found in a magazine...Sketchbooks....I believe. www.frenchtoastgirl.com Not only does she have nice art, she has a 34 things list. Lately I've heard of other people doing a 100 list. Recently on he news, there was a report that a young woman died. Her mother found her 100 things to do list on her computer. It was published in newspapers and magazines. That inspired a lot of people to write down goals. It's important to have goals.....achievable goals. Jae is always after me to break things down into small manageable bits. Anyway, there is good stuff on this website.

  1. Why is the typing lines so goofy? What the heck?

  2. Okay I just figured this out. If you go to Posting, there is a tab along the top for Edit Posts, and it turns out we can either of us Edit stuff once it is Posted (not Drafts I guess). Where you will see the line wrap-around is goofy is if you click the tab on the right that says Edit HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language which is what makes the web. There are some line returns in there that you probably didn't notice in the little weenie posting window. So you can fix that there, and then save your post over again.

Also you can see what HTML looks like. Your French Toast Girl link has the code with the funny brackets around it. Think of it as fancy punctuation.

  3. Wow, I just checked the French Toast Girl website, and what a splash! (I think that's a technical term for a big flashy illo like that home page.) It really gets across the flavor of her work though. At first I thought it had changed since I looked at it a few days ago, then I realized the link I had was to her Gallery page. Boy has she put up a lot of stuff. The humorous, playful character of her drawings are fun, and the color in her watercolor is pretty darn fine too.

  4. You posted this yesterday? It didn't show up here all evening! I can only figure Blogger is having major upheavals. We have caught them right in the middle of a big software change, so we can hope things will improve as they settle into it.

  5. Chris, here is some easy HTML you can try. See the letters in pointy brackets up at the top of the window? If you Edit your post, you could italicize the magazine name by putting the i in pointy brackets in front of it, and then turn off the italics by putting /i (slash i) in pointy brackets at the end. If you don't turn it off everything after that will be italicized. I can't do it here or else the magic will work just like that. And I don't think we get to Edit Comments, we can just delete them. The little trash can tells me so.

  6. I figured out what I did wrong. Instead of typing typing and letting it wrap, I was entering when I'd get to the end of the "box" where you enter your post. HA! Starting to figure this out!!
